What UK resellers need from a community — and how we're building it
We looked at how reselling communities work today — paid groups, live calls, Facebook groups, YouTube channels — and at what sellers keep asking for. Here's what we found, and what it means for this place.
What sellers need
- Evidence, not hype. Sold prices, real maths on hauls, and honest numbers from Live shows.
- Help with the hard middle: testing, repairing and describing items properly — especially tech, cameras and retro, where a tested item sells for far more than an untested one.
- Answers they can find again. Advice locked inside video calls and chat groups disappears; written threads and guides can be searched and linked.
- Live selling know-how. eBay Live is growing fast, and planning a show, picking a slot and running the auction are new skills.
- The boring essentials made clear: fees, postage, returns and the tax basics.
- Company on the hard days. Selling alone is lonely, and a routine that bends on bad weeks is worth more than one that breaks.
What sellers want
- Somewhere friendly, free to join, with no pressure to buy a course.
- Quick wins: a price check in minutes, a checklist before a car boot, a template for a tricky buyer message.
- To be recognised for helping — not for posting the most.
- AI that genuinely saves time without putting their account, their buyers or their reputation at risk.
What we're doing about it
- Everything important is written, searchable and free to read, with members-only guides in the library.
- A tech-first focus — cameras, consoles, gadgets, retro and collectables — with a test & repair clinic.
- Weekly formats: Market Monday, Price Check Friday and Saturday Sourcing Wins.
- Ask FRANK answers from the community's own threads with the sources shown; a person decides anything that matters.
- Reputation comes from helpful answers and accepted solutions — never from volume.
- Wellbeing built in: quiet mode, gentle weeks, private spaces, and a Support & links page.
